Haiti - FLASH : 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Haiti beats Nicaragua [3-0] (videos)

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, in the third match of six in Group C of the Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Associations (CONCACAF) Final Round of Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, our Grenadiers, facing the "Nicas" of Nicaragua on the fielf of the National Stadium in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, won a resounding 3-0 victory and temporarily took the lead in Group C, ahead of second-place Honduras.

Starting Lineup :

French coach Sébastien Migné has announced the Grenadiers' starting lineup for the match against Nicaragua. For his return, captain Johny Placide will be in goal, with JK Duverne in front of him, alongside Ricardo Adé, Duke Lacroix, and Carlens Arcus.

In midfield, Bellegarde and Danley Jean Jacques. Josué Casimir, making his first international appearance, will play on the right wing, while Ruben Providence will play on the left wing. Duckens Nazon and Frantzdy Pierrot will play forward.

Summary :

Duckens Nazon opened the scoring in the 12th minute for Haiti [1-0], capitalizing on a loose ball in the box and pushing it away from close range. With this sixth goal, Nazon became the season's top scorer.

A power outage interrupted the match for over an hour...

When the lights came back on, Danley Jean Jacques headed in a corner kick in the 35th minute, doubling the score for our Grenadiers [2-0]. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde provided the assist.

Louicius Deedson sealed the final score and the Grenadiers' victory in the 90th minute with a left-footed shot from inside the box, following a precise pass from Duke Lacroix to the far post [3-0].

Goalkeeper Johny Placide put in a solid performance, making three saves and keeping a clean sheet.
